Coronavirus
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus.
Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment.
The virus that causes COVID-19 is mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. These droplets are too heavy to hang in the air, and quickly fall on floors or surfaces.
You can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are within close proximity of someone who has COVID-19, or by touching a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose or mouth.

Pandemic is not a word to use lightly
It is a word that, if misused, can cause unreasonable fear, or unjustified acceptance that the fight is over, leading to unnecessary suffering and death.
Corona / Covid-19: Current information for Southeast Asia travelers
[Update: 01/15/2021] The high season in Southeast Asia came to an abrupt end in March due to the Corona crisis. After the summer season from July to September, which traditionally attracts many holidaymakers to Malaysia, Thailand or Indonesia, was completely canceled, the disappointment was great. And the prospect of winter 20/21 is anything but good.
When is it possible to travel again? And under what conditions? Answers to these questions are still being sought. You will find it here sometime.
Fascination Southeast Asia has been reporting on the current situation on site since the crisis began. There are special pages for each individual country as well as daily reports in the news ticker below .
For example:
Under what conditions is entry possible? (Visa, health test, etc.)
What restrictions are there in air traffic?
How is the situation in everyday life on site (curfews, restrictions on freedom of travel and public life, etc.)
Which loosening is carried out where?
After only bad news for almost two months, the first positive changes have also been reported since summer. So curfews were lifted and the first tourist places reopened (if only for domestic tourism).
We will continue with this page until traveling anywhere in Southeast Asia is possible again – no matter how long it takes.
